The Chicago Bears and Philadelphia Eagles are out of the playoffs after their three-game losing streak.
The Eagles and Bears were separated by just three games heading into Sunday’s game in Kansas City.
Bears head coach Marc Trestman said on Twitter the team is looking for a backup to starting quarterback Josh McCown.
McCown had not played in a regular-season game this season, missing six games due to injuries.
The Bears were eliminated from playoff contention with a 31-23 loss to the Green Bay Packers on Saturday night.
Bears quarterback Josh Morgan and defensive end Michael Bennett both missed practice on Sunday.
Morgan, who is in his second season with the Bears, has played in three games.
Bennett, who has missed three games due for suspension, is expected to play Sunday.
Both players will be eligible to return to the field Sunday.
Bears receiver Alshon Jeffery, who was named the NFC’s Defensive Player of the Week last week, missed practice for the first time since the season opener.
The wide receiver caught four passes for 79 yards in a 34-17 win over the Green Bears on Sunday night.
The two teams will meet again in Week 16.
Jeffery was inactive again on Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs.
“I feel like my body’s just not there,” Jeffery said.
“You just have to be patient and be patient with yourself.
I’ve been doing that the last two weeks.” “
Just be patient, trust yourself, and do your job.
I’ve been doing that the last two weeks.”
Bears coach Marc Burris said he’s hopeful Jeffery will be able to return on Sunday, but there is no timetable.
“We’ve got a couple guys that we’re going to keep working with, and hopefully we’ll get some guys back,” Burris told reporters Sunday.
“So hopefully we can get some production out of this game.
But it’s really up to him to come back on Sunday.”
Bennett, a fifth-round pick out of Washington in 2014, was the Bears’ starting quarterback in the opener against the Packers.
Bennett has struggled in recent weeks with injuries.
He has a combined four games with three starts this season.
Bennett was injured in Week 8 at Detroit and missed three of the next four games, including the playoffs.
The Packers were able to hold the Bears to one touchdown in the fourth quarter in a 23-21 win over Chicago on Nov. 5.
Bennett led the Bears in scoring with 20 points in that game.
The first half of the season has been particularly bad for Bennett, as he has been on the injured list twice this season and was lost for the season against the Lions on Nov
